Embodied Mediation training for professionals

Learning objectives
This immersive training allows professionals from various fields to explore the fundamental role of the body in mediation and communication processes. By becoming aware of the impact of body language, posture, and physical sensations in interactions, participants will develop essential skills for a more fluid, empathetic, and effective mediation process.

Content and approach
This training offers an experiential and interactive approach to the importance of the body in mediation, with a focus on:

  • Body Awareness and Presence: Developing a refined perception of one’s own body and the bodies of others in mediation situations.
  • Non-Verbal Language: Analyzing and understanding the impact of gestures, posture, and facial expressions in interpersonal communication.
  • Bodily Dynamics in Conflicts: Identifying how tension and emotions manifest in the body and how to regulate them.
  • Using the Body as a Regulation Tool: Learning to mobilize body techniques to promote calm and conflict resolution.

Applications for professionals and institutions
As mediators, it is essential to consider the body as a vehicle for communication and regulation:

  • Facilitating Communication and Listening: Using posture and physical presence to promote trust and openness.
  • Detecting and Soothing Tensions: Recognizing bodily signals of stress or withdrawal to better adapt interventions.
  • Managing Conflict Situations: Integrating gestures and breathing techniques to defuse conflicts and foster a dialogue-oriented environment.

Benefits of the training

  • A deeper understanding of the body’s role in communication and mediation dynamics.
  • Practical tools to optimize posture and physical presence in negotiation and conflict management situations.
  • A more refined professional stance, facilitating smoother and more tailored support for those involved.

This training offers a dynamic and participatory learning environment, allowing participants to experiment with and integrate an innovative bodily approach to mediation.
